The Voice of CCNU(Trainee reporter Fu Rong) On the evening of April 5, the deputy secretary of Communist Party of China of School of Information and Communication, Cheng Xiuli, the instructor of the undergraduates of class of 2018, Li Hongyu and the instructor of the undergraduates of class of 2019, Huang Yining, came to the student dormitory to carry out safety education and dorm inspection work.
This dorm inspection work covered senior grades of the school. During the process of the work, Cheng Xiuli enquired about the students’ career development after graduation and problems they met in their life and study, in the meantime, she provided them with many suggestions. When she learned that a girl had chosen to go back home to have an online interview because of internet lag of the campus network, she said: “All the teacher’s offices of our school can be given away for the students to have interviews.”
After knew about the needs of part of students, Cheng Xiufang conducted analyses targetedly on the problems about graduate school exam, civil service exam and employment, which were major concerns for them. In her point of view, the situation of taking graduate school exam and civil service exam under the background of epidemic was still severe and it would be more serious in the future. She encouraged the students to have two strings in their bowls, which were pursing advanced studies and obtaining employment flexibly to avoid to focus on small probability events intently. In that case, once they failed, they would miss future development opportunities. The employment situation of this year showed some improvement, a part of the media units offered some employment positions to the undergraduates, so she suggested that the students should make good use of the rich employment resources of school to practise as mediators as soon as possible to enrich their experience.
In this dorm inspection work, the students of class of 2018 and 2019 shared their practical experience and future plans, which included internship, employment, taking graduate school exam and civil service exam, going abroad, leaving the country and some other aspects. Moreover, some students came up with the new direction which was “freelance work”. Cheng Xiuli emphasized on the importance of “communication”, reminded the students to pay attention to the information of the school and feed back problems and needs. What was more, she said that the school would do its best to offer help and solve problems for the students.
This dorm inspection work let the school learn more about the students’ living situations, built a bridge which strengthen communication between teachers and students and exhorted the students to keep their eyes on dormitory safety. It is believed that with the joint effort of the teachers and students, all the students of School of Information and Communication will development smoothly.
